hello, all -

well, it's been a whirlwind

please forgive my delinquency in writing

SAY UNCLE had it's world premiere screening at OUTFEST in los angeles. we had a terrific party beforehand at my friend chris's house, then played to a sold-out audience at the director's guild of america. there was a sound problem at the very beginning of the film, so we had to start over - causing me to age about 20 years in 20 seconds - but i did a little stand-up (you can have it, hal) and everything went beautifully. the response has been pretty over-whelmingly positive. there have of course been nay-sayers, but you gotta expect that going in. especially, when you make a moody comedy about hysteria and pedophilia.

we followed that up with a second screening, then flew directly to the PHILADELPHIA GAY AND LESBIAN FILM FESTIVAL, where i was hilariously awarded that 1st annual GAY ICON AWARD. who knew? the movie played wonderfully in philly, and we're currently in talks with distributors. it's a huge relief to know that the film is going to have a life, that people will have a chance to see it.

in other news, i saw the series finale of QAF last night. it's quite good, and quite moving - at least it was for me. hard to believe it's over. i will love those people (the real ones) and those characters (who still seem pretty real to me) forever.

i'm currently pounding out the first draft of the next movie i want to make. it's a biggie, but no one ever got anywhere dreaming small, right?

be good to one another...

xoxo
peter
